Who Are Coastwatch Scotland-Coastwatch Scotland was founded in 2005 in Irvine Ayrshire as an independent, non-governmental volunteer coastal monitoring and safety organisation.There  are currently Five Units operatating in Scotland and England, Irvine Unit, Tay (Dundee) Unit, Forth/St Monans Unit, Forth /Bowness Unit, Berwick on Tweed Unit. Coastwatch Scotland is run entirely by volunteers who have an interest in and concern for safety of life at sea and on the coast. St Monans Coastwatch Scotland in the East Neuk of Fife is based at Lookout at St Monans harbour and was set up in 2013, We are volunteer watchkeepers who actively monitor the Firth of Forth from Anstruther to Elie Ness. We regularly keep a lookout over the coast from the lookout and patrol surrounding areas. in an emergency we will contact the appropraite service to attend and offer assistance if and when require or requested. We also Offer coastal sea advice. John Kinsman is Head of Forth/St.Monans Coastwatch Unit. Anne Kinsman is deputy head of Unit, and volunteer watch keepers are Kevin McBain and Elaine Young, Charlie Burton. Coastwatch St Monans Unit is based in the  Windmill on the Breas on the Coastal Path between St Monans and Pittenweem is named "St Monans Windmill Coastwatch Lookout". The Coastwatch St Monans unit is manned on Wednesday, saturday and Sunday's from 13.00hrs til 16.00hrs and in an  emergency. Coastwatch St Monans would like to announce that they are now part/friends of SEAFARERS AFLOAT The Merchant Navy Association Boat Club. who spot-plot and report incidents at sea in same way coastwatc scotland do. i will place more details later. WE now have the SEAFARERS FLAG FLYING ABOVE THE COASTWATCH ST MONANS LOOKOUT.
